OwlCon 2010 Warlord 2 Lords of War Tournament Rules
Rules: 1 – 1000 point roster, Warlord 2 datacards. A printed or handwritten roster must be submitted before play for verification, and must include point costs for models and equipment/upgrades. Rosters printed via the Warlord 2 army builder found at http://warlordhq.reapergames.com/ are acceptable for such purposes. Faction Doctrine must be included on the roster, and may not be changed during the course of the tournament. All core factions (plus any factions available in open public beta as of February 1st, 2010) are legal for tournament play.
Official Reaper proxy rules will be loosely enforced; Reaper models are preferred, but other manufacturers will be allowed. However, base size must be correct, and the proxied model should be reasonably similar to what they represent (please, no pixies subbing for hill giants, no matter how big a base you slap it on). Empty base proxies are not permitted.
Tournament Format: The tournament will be 4 90-minute timed scenario-based battles on 4'x4' boards, with a 5 Turn maximum. This 90-minute time frame is actual game-play; each round will also include 10 minutes of time to be used for deployment at the beginning and 5 minutes for scoring at the end. Scenarios will be posted to http://www.shakandara.com/oc09/ by January 15th, 2010. Total tournament score will be calculated from the combination of the player's best 3 rounds (discarding the lowest score).
Entrance Fee: Entry into the tournament is free with your OwlCon convention registration.
Prizes: prizes awarded for 1st-3rd place finishers!
Schedule: Rosters must be registered and presented for confirmation and review by 9:45AM Sunday. Rosters may be submitted any time prior to that point (including via the Reaper forum's PM system or by e-mail). Players presenting rosters after the deadline are automatically awarded a loss for their first battle, while their randomly drawn partner receives a win. Don't be late!!!! Round 1 begins promptly at 10:00am and Round 2 at 12:00pm. There is a one-hour break for lunch at 2:00pm, with play for Round 3 resuming at 3:00pm, and Round 4 at 5:00pm. Play concludes at 7pm and prizes will be awarded after the scores are tabulated.
